Computers for inner-city students and their families :
This year has been dominated by our effort to
set up a system to provide computers with Internet access to inner-city
students. A process has been developed for identifying students who can not
afford a computer and requirements have been established for earning a computer
through volunteer effort in the community. We have set up a computer assembly
shop in our home. We have obtained used computer systems, repair and assembly
equipment, upgrade hardware, and software. We have worked hard to provide computers
to inner-city students with an hour of training to them and their
families. A more detailed report is written in a Grand Rapids Advance news
paper article.
